Tejas Pevekar

Tejas Pevekar is the Associate Director for UT Austin’s Utilities and Energy Management (UEM) department. In this position, he develops structures and plans for programs that are essential to the department's mission.

With nine years of experience within the University, he has served in various capacities starting as an Energy Manager and later the Associate Director of Support Services before beginning his current role. Here, he has facilitated focus groups of 180+ employees to develop an Employee Engagement Plan geared toward employee retention and inclusion. He also served as a Project Manager for the FAS Strategic Plan to operationalize teamwork and core values. Tejas also has earned more than fifteen years of experience in energy engineering, energy management, project management, and strategic initiatives. He also worked in the consulting industry for ten years, both in startup and corporate environments, where he gained experience in project development for K-12 schools, colleges, universities, and the state and federal government.

Tejas has a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Mumbai University and a Master’s Degree in Engineering Management from Southern Methodist University.
