About Roberto
Roberto del Real is the Director of Utilities for Energy Management and Strategic Programs at UT Austin’s Utilities and Energy Management (UEM). He has worked for the university for eighteen years and has served in various capacities during his tenure at UEM. At UEM, he has served as the Plant Operations Maintenance Manager, Controls Systems Manager, Associate Director of Energy Management and Optimization, and now as Director of Utilities.
Trained as an engineer, he has a unique 30-year background in leadership, engineering, and project management on multimillion-dollar projects, strategic planning, and operational optimization programs that have provided advantages and considerable benefits to the companies he has worked for.
Roberto has a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Texas at El Paso.
